  • Startup capital: one-time startup cost, working capital and reserve
  • Know when you can expect a profit: calculating the breakeven point
  • Avoid cash flow problems: using a cash flow statement and keeping operating cash flow stay positive
  • Keep your business in good financial health: identify products with a higher gross margin; keep bad debt and inventory under control; reduce the debt ratio etc
