Title Laboratory Management Series : Measurement of Uncertainty

Objective This course aims to provide participants fundamental knowledge and guidelines on what is measurement uncertainty and statistics involved; how to take proper procedures to meet the measurement uncertainty requirements set by accreditation organizations in order to produce precise, effective, scientific and justice measuring results.

  • Definitions, identification of sources,essentiality and application scope of measurement uncertainty
  • ISO/IEC 17025:2017 requirement for measurement uncertainty
  • Basic terms and concepts of uncertainty
  • Type A and Type B evaluation of standard uncertainty
  • Calculation of combined standard uncertainty
  • Calculation of expanded uncertainty
  • Reporting and expressing measurement uncertainty
  • Application examples
  • Overview of ISO GUM
Note: Instructor(s) teaching remotely and students are required to attend classes at CPTTM.
Assessment In class performance, exercises and test.
Target audience Laboratory management or technical staff responsible for uncertainties, and consultants for testing or calibration organizations
Prerequisite Priority will be given to individuals who are currently working in laboratory

Instructor Possess over 10 years of experiences in lab accreditation auditing and training.

Duration 21 hours in 6 sessions
Schedule 09:30-13:00, 14:00-17:30, from Aug 7, 2024(Wednesday) to Aug 9, 2024(Friday).
Fee Standard Fee: MOP3,000;
For employees of qualified organizations under the “Training Incentive Scheme for International Management System Certification” (see Remarks 1) : MOP1,500.
Venue CPTTM Head Office (Rua de Xangai 175, Edf. ACM 7 Andar, Macau)
Certificate Joint Certificate of Completion issued by CPTTM & Macau Laboratory Technologist Association (with at least 80% attendance and passed the assessment).

Remark
  1. Local organizations sponsoring their employees to enroll in the above training course can apply for the "Training Incentive Scheme for International Management System Certification" if they meet the following criteria:
    • qualified applicants of the CPTTM laboratory accreditation subsidy scheme or
    • local organizations achieved laboratory accreditation.
  2. The Training Incentive Application Form must be submitted together with the Course Enrollment Form.
  3. "Training Incentive Scheme for International Management System Certification" and "DSEJ's Continuing Education Development Program" cannot be used together
  4. This course is co-organized by CPTTM and the Macau Laboratory Technologist Association.
