Objective Microsoft Excel is the most widely used spreadsheet application, and is also a powerful tool for data analysis and business decision-making. This practical course focuses on the data checking, verification and analysis functions of excel; it adopts an example-oriented approach enabling the participants to learn and apply in real life situations.
  1. Checking and verifying data using:
    • Data validation
    • Formula Auditing
    • Advanced Filtering
  2. Performing What-If Analysis on Worksheet Data, using:
    • Goal Seek and Solver (e.g. product costing and pricing, budget allocation planning etc)
    • Scenario Analysis (e.g. profit forecast, marketing plans comparison etc)
  3. Analyzing data, using:
    • Pivot tables and charts (e.g. analysing customer/sales figures etc)
    • The "Analysis ToolPak" for statistics purpose
Assessment In class performance, exercises and test.
Target audience Business executive and managers who want to work with Microsoft Excel for more efficient data analysis and decision-making.
Prerequisite Individuals should either:
  • have completed basic Excel training (please provide copies of certificates), or
  • pass the entrance test, demonstrating that they basically know how to use Excel, or
