Objective	On completion the attendee will be able to install, configure and maintain a Linux system as a standalone computer or a network client. It corresponds to the LPI Exam 101 (except topic 103) and Exam 102 (except topic 113).
Content	Install, upgrade, delete, and query packages on your system Make and install softwares from source System startup and shutdown Manage user accounts and environment Manage Linux file systems Manage printers Configure X Window system Writing shell scripts Backup & restore Configure LILO and GRUB Configure access to network card, sound card, modem Basic IP networking Configure TCP/IP client Using ssh, sftp, telnet, ftp clients Configure DHCP client Configure SMB client Configure PPP client Perform basic performance, memory, and process management Maintain system time Configure USB devices Manage kernel and kernal modules
Assessment	There will be a final exam on the last session.
Target audience	IT technicians who need to administer a Linux Server.
Prerequisite	Having attended the LPI-Linux Fundamentals course or equivalent. Please create an e-learning account and then do the self-assessment to check.

Instructor	Mr. Lok receives Software Engineering degree from University of Macau, with experience of developing programs in Linux and Unix/Linux system management.

Schedule	Lecture: 10:00-13:00, 14:30-17:30, from Aug 16, 2014 to Oct 25, 2014 every Saturday. Last session: 10:00-13:00, Nov 1, 2014 (Saturday).
